Hi everyone! I watched Bailee pitch today with my mommy and daddy. She was pitching for Cleveland State and they were playing Bryan College. I just love Bailee because when she comes to see us, she always pets me. She’s so sweet. Well, so am I. I mean, that’s what my daddy tells me all the time.

So anyhow, Bailee’s dad, Chris, or her mom, Heather, always facetime with us when Bailee pitches. We rearranged our day to watch. She pitched today at 3 p.m. and I had to come out from under the bed during my afternoon nap to watch.
Well, the facetime thing rings and it was Tyler, Bailee’s brother. He and my daddy coach the Red Bank High School baseball team together. My daddy just loves him and likes to mess with him. I can’t tell you what my daddy does when Tyler gets all uptight during their high school games, but it’s pretty funny stuff.
Bailee pitched a three hitter the other day against Tennessee Wesleyan. She had a perfect game going into the fourth inning. Cleveland State won that game 8-1. So, today we expected the same. She was pitching a no hitter through three innings, again. Then, she gave up a hit. Well, I could hear Tyler say, “It’s my Nana’s fault. She just said Bailee is pitching a no hitter.” I thought, “Now come on Nana!”

In the background, we heard a familiar voice say, “Come on 34, you got this!” My daddy said, “Hey, that sounds like Zoe’s mom, Kendal.” Mommy, “Yeah it does.”
Tyler, “Oh yeah, Kendal and Zoe are both here to surprise Bailee.”
Well, I thought, “Oh how nice. They’ve been friends a long time.” Zoe has been here a few times, too. Let’s just say she’s about as nutty as my daddy.
Zoe is playing college softball over near Memphis at Jackson State C.C. They’re called the Green Jays. Now, I sit in my window a lot and see all kinds of birds, even Blue Jays, but never a Green Jay. I think that’s made up.
Her other friend, Hailey was also there. She’s playing for Cleveland State, too. She’s taking some time off to have her baby. Everybody is all excited for her. I haven’t met her, but I see her pretty pictures and my mommy and daddy say she’s a sweet gal. That’s good enough for me. Hey, the three of them led Red Bank to within a game of the state championship last spring!! How about that folks?

One inning, my dad asked “How many outs?” Tyler said, “I think one.” I could hear Chris say, “No I think it’s two.” Then, they were talking back and forth trying to figure it out. Boy, it was funny. Bless their hearts.
Bailee’s team was winning 4 to 2 in the 6th, but just like baseball, softball can change quickly. A gal got a hard hit, then a couple of errors, and next thing you know, Bryan was winning. I had to turn my head. I mean, do some Ozzie Albies drills for goodness sakes!
Oh well! You know what, though, Bailee never lets anything bother her. She just keeps pitching and doing her best. Hey, that’s all anyone can do.
My daddy says, “Do your best. Stay in the moment. We can’t control the outcome.”
He’s right with humans. But, you already know I bat my eyes and my daddy does whatever I want.
