A Rose Named Bailee

This sweet gal just started her first day of college. She’s an all state softball pitcher and home run power hitter. She led Red Bank High Scholl in Chattanooga to the state tournament, pitching every single game! She excelled in the classroom and in the community. She was voted “Athlete of the Year” at Red Bank, outperforming all the guys!! She is attending Cleveland State, in Tennessee, on a softball scholarship. I wrote this little poem to commemorate the day.

First day of school

That’s so cool

My sweet girl Bailee

Be nice to folks daily

Long blonde hair

Youth is in the air

Walkin down the hall

Backpack and all

A smile on your face

Go at your own pace

Enjoy the day

In every way

There’s no Rose

Like a Bailee Rose

Hey folks. This is Coach Dee. I am a retired teacher and coach from Chattanooga, Tennessee. My bride of 32 years, Emily, has been with me every step of the way. We now reside in Clearwater, Florida and are enjoying the laid back beach life. Please join me as I share my stories and experiences throughout my career and beyond. Some real and some imagined. Each day at school, I wanted to make my students think and laugh. Hopefully, my thoughts and observations will do the same for you. Live the moment and enjoy each day!!
