Hey! Let me in!

So anyhow.. Squeeky loves to sit on her perch and look out the bedroom window. Our flower garden is outside the window and she can see birds, squirrels and the many lizards that wander around this tropical paradise.

Often times, lizards crawl on the window seal and occasionally even get in our home. Now and then a lizard will manage to get between the screen and hurricane window.

The other day, she’s sitting on the bed listening to her classical music. All of a sudden, her head pops up and she makes a beeline to her window. Her head begins to dart back-and-forth and her paw is tapping on the window.

Emily: What do you see Squeaky?

Squeeky: It’s a lizard, Mamma and it’s inside the screen.

Emily: Dee!!! Come here! There’s a lizard in the screen. I hope it don’t get in the house.

Me: Oh it’s just one of her friends that she talks to.

Squeeky: Hi lizard. You sure are fast. I can’t move that fast anymore. I’m just an old gal.

I see the lizard darting back-and-forth in the screen.

Squeeky : Daddy, I think he’s scared of something.

Me: Well it is hot out there. Maybe he’s just trying to get inside and cool off some.

Squeaky is pawing at him as he moves around. She could’ve been a pretty good boxer back in the day.

Squeeky : Hey lizard! What’s wrong?

Lizard: Hey! Let me in!

Squeeky: Daddy. He says he scared and he wants me to let him in. Please come open this window?

Emily: No way! Squeeky we’re not opening that window and letting that lizard in here. He’ll run all over the place and scare me to death!

Me: I wonder what that poor fella is so scared of?

Squeeky: Hey lizard! Why are you so scared?

Lizard: Because this big white egret ate my brother and when he was flying off he hollered, “Boston sucks!”

Squeeky: You got that right!
